Amplify London Conference

We had a fantastic day at our Amplify London conference, generously hosted by YouTube! It was really lovely to unite past and present Amplify grant recipients and industry professionals. A huge thank you to everyone who participated, attended and helped organise the day!

The first session was the Industry Pathways and the Creative Eco-System panel. This panel explored how programmes like Amplify London can empower grassroots music organisations to provide training opportunities for young people. We discussed how young creators can be nurtured to enable work to flourish, how links within the music industry and the music education sector can be forged and how industry pathways can be facilitated. With an emphasis on cultivating leadership, we took a look at how successful projects and artists can feed knowledge and experience back into the creative eco-system, enabling the next generation of music creators to thrive.

The second panel discussion was named Emerging Technology in Music. As technology continues to offer up new and potentially exciting ways of working, we looked at what role this plays in the future of music. With a focus on artificial intelligence, we discussed how this rapidly developing technology can be successfully and positively integrated into projects, with a need to retain the human element of artistic creation and an emphasis on protecting the integrity and rights of the artist.

The delegates also enjoyed a performance from Jason Singh and Tamar Osborn, which explored nature, voice, and technology.

‘The concept fits our organisation perfectly and I just wish there were more opportunities like this out there, so sing it from the rooftops!’ — Amplify Conference Delegate

I found the first panel on grassroots organisations building pathways into the music industry very educational. I was also happy to network with people who were looking at progressing young people into management roles within their organisation’. — Amplify Conference Delegate
