Round 1 Projects
The first five funded organisations and their projects were announced in July 2020 and are listed below. The next five projects for Round 2 will be announced in April 2021.
Ambition Aspire Achieve: Arc Music
This Newham youth club launched their new music studio in the autumn of 2020, and are running music technology and digital music-making workshops for vulnerable young people aged 12-14.
Collage Voices: Voice Against Hate
This north London-based project is celebrating difference, championing respect and combating hate in schools, through a bespoke song-writing programme.
Girls Rock London: Summer Camp
This 6-day intensive Summer Camp in Hackney will enable young women and trans youth to learn an instrument and form a band, trained by industry professionals.
Ruff Sqwad Arts Foundation: You Can’t Handle The Beat 2020
This 6-week project ran during summer 2020, in a studio with social distancing measures in place. RSAF trained young MCs, producers and sound engineers to create and record an EP. The young people will also be producing music videos for two of the tracks when covid restrictions allow.
School Ground Sounds: Windrush Amplified
In partnership with Brixton Wings youth club, this song-writing camp for vulnerable, local young people aged 11-16 will explore the theme of Windrush.
