Senior Scholars

Senior Scholarships

Our Senior Scholarship programme was piloted in 2022, with generous support from John Studzinski CBE and in partnership with ABRSM. Since its launch the programme has continued to thrive and grow, and this year we have been able to offer twenty talented musicians aged 15-18 a Senior Scholarship Award 2024-25.

Our Senior Scholars comprise graduates of our main Scholarship programme and those studying at Junior Conservatoires who are now playing at an advanced standard and intending to pursue music at higher education or conservatoire.

We would like to thank our new benefactors The KM Foundation for their generosity in funding and supporting our Senior Scholarship programme.

What is the Senior Scholarship programme?

Senior Scholars are given a grant to be spent on anything that supports their music education. This can include (but is not limited to) music lessons, instrument purchase or upkeep, sheet music, music courses and travel to auditions.

Alongside the grant they are also offered a series of events across the year curated to their specific needs, strengthening their skillsets and widening their knowledge of roles within the music sector. This series of bespoke opportunities organised by LMF can include trips to music colleges, connecting with LMF’s Ambassadors, tickets to concerts, masterclasses and performance opportunities.

Senior Scholars also take a leadership role at LMF Playing Days, enabling them to act as mentors for younger musicians and develop leadership skills.
