Publication of the new Model Music Curriculum

This week the Department for Education launched the Model Music Curriculum, an advisory document to recommend music in the national curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2 and 3. It has a number of important key recommendations, not least that every child should have at least one hour per week of music-making at all stages of schooling prior to GCSE.

We welcome this important publication and very proud that our Chair, The Baroness Fleet Veronica Wadley CBE led the DfE’s expert panel. We are very lucky to have such a strong supporter of music education involved in such high profile work.
